September is for Starting

September 2nd - Gather your supplies Sep 02, 2025

Have you ever avoided a project because even the thought of starting felt too big?

Here’s a trick: don’t start the project. Just gather your supplies.

  • Working on a craft project? Just collect all your materials.
  • Have a home improvement project? Just assemble your tools and materials.
  • Need to process your taxes? Just collect your papers and stationery.

You don’t have to finish today. You don’t even have to start today. But by gathering what you need, you’re already moving forward.

Once the supplies are ready, the project feels less overwhelming, and getting started tomorrow (or whenever you schedule it for) will be that much easier.

Try it: what’s one task you could prepare for right now just by gathering your supplies?

September 1st - Why is it so hard to get started? Sep 01, 2025

“Uhhhh that sounds like a later problem.”

We’ve all been there - staring at the to-do list, the blank page, or that project you know needs your attention…and somehow, you just can’t get yourself to start.

It’s NOT because you’re lazy. Our brains are literally designed to keep us safe, and there’s something about getting started that feels unsafe.

There’s something your brain thinks you don’t have enough of:

  • time

  • energy

  • a plan

  • supplies

  • tools

  • interest

Sound familiar? You’re not alone. We KNOW these are all figureoutable things, but your primal brain still loves to throw alarms at discomfort and scarcity.

Getting started is one of the hardest parts of time management, whether it’s beginning a new project, restarting after an interruption, or taking the next step when your momentum fades.

That’s why for all 30 days of September this series is dedicated to helping you get STARTED, no matter what that means.

You’ll discover the real reasons you’re resisting and practice getting into action. Once you understand why you’re stuck at the starting line, the path forward becomes so much more clear and less stressful.

You don’t have to force yourself to begin, you just need the right tools to make starting feel easier. Get your free Day 1 worksheet at the link below:

August 31 - Time management is a "forever" skill Aug 31, 2025

Time management isn’t just a school skill, it’s a forever skill.

Everything in your life - your hobbies, relationships, career, finances, health - it all depends on how you manage your time. And yet, most of us are never truly taught how.

Don’t blame your parents. (At least not for this. ;)) Society has evolved so quickly over the last few generations that what “busy” used to look like to your grandparents would feel like a vacation day to most of us now.

When you’re in survival mode, experimenting with your schedule doesn’t feel doable.

When you’re surrounded by demands for your attention and energy, saying “no” and taking time for yourself doesn’t feel responsible.

I get it. Sharpening the time-management-saw is a challenge. But it is possible, and it is so very important.

If you’ve joined us for the August is for Education series, you’ve joined the 1% of the 1% of people who are making it a priority to manage one of their most precious resources. I’m so proud of you!!

This forever skill will literally change your life:

August 30th - This is literally your life Aug 30, 2025

Time isn’t just minutes on the clock - it’s literally your life.

Every moment you spend is a moment lived, and it’s true that we can’t get those moments back.

No one is served by living with a scarcity mindset or being anxious about time, but the reality is that time does have boundaries.

When you plan your goals and fit them into your daily actions, you intentionally design your life.

When you decide:

  • what you’re going to do

  • schedule a time to do it

  • and follow through

that’s you, making your life happen, in real-time.

My goal as a coach is to help you stop treating time like an endless resource and start using it in ways that bring you both success and satisfaction. When you plan your life with purpose, and live it with balance, you make every moment count.

Take control of your time this term:
